What is the point of all the International Resolutions such as UNSCR 1325 calling for women to be equal partners in post conflict governance and Peace talks unless the International Community implement them?
Delegates have said the newly
recognised opposition leadership council brokered internationally will include representation for ethnic
Kurds, Christians, Alawites and women, but will it be just another example
of a fig-leaf in the form of 2 or 3 women and some 50 or 60 men(as in Libya)?
The Syrian group, formed after a
week of talks in Doha, will have two vice-presidents - prominent dissident Riad
Seif and the leading female secular activist, Suhair al-Atassi.
How many women in addition to Suhair al-Atassi will
participate as Members of the newly internationally recognised Syrian
Opposition Leadership Council?

Hi Lesley - you are so right! I am sure you have read the report on Women, peace and security which makes the same point about the importance (imperative) of including women equally.
