New UN Agency for Women
I was interviewed for BBC TV Newsnight about the new UN Agency for Women. If the new Un Agency is going to succeed it needs certain pre-requisites: top- table status in each country and in the UN hierarchy so it has clout; at least one billion US dollars start-up annual funding;staffing must include women activists setting the agenda; it should have an operational mandate in addition to advisory mandate.
